Ms. Minet will forever be one of my fondest memories of LV Primary School. Taught us all to sing and play those wonderful recorders. RIP. I am sure you are hosting your first of many concerts in heaven.

I was fortunate enough to get to see my Great Aunt Ellen with my daughter Maddie and cousin Don on Saturday before she passed. Words cannot describe how much we loved her and will miss her. She was the matriarch of our family, surviving her husband, Uncle John, and her siblings Royce, Carlyle and Margaret. Never having children of her own, she treated all of us like her children. Little in stature but enormous in strength, love and wisdom. Rest in Peace amazing Ellen. We love you. The photo of the four of us represents four generations (October 2019).

Mrs. Minet said to me in third grade, "Leslie, you're an alto." Right there she changed my life. I also was honored to be her page turner in elementary school. I had the great pleasure of working with her as an adult when I was performing at nursing homes and she accompanied me. She was a fine musician and meant a lot to me. I'm sure many other students have fond memories of her too.

We enjoyed knowing Ellen through the Manhattan Rose Society gatherings, especially the annual Christmas party where Ellen used the piano to get everyone in the holiday spirit. She was always willing to share a few piano-playing tips to the budding pianists in our family. A sweet woman who avoided outliving friends by making new ones.
