Dear Myrt, Ed Jr, Kenny, Stephen, and the rest of the Minicozzi family,
I send you my deepest most heartfelt condolences to you all and your families. What can I say about Ed that has not already been said? I met Ed in 1999 when I became in charge of the Minicozzi account. It didn’t take long for me to realize that Ed was someone special. I have a lot of clients but Ed was special in so many ways. Every meeting I ever had with him started out with the most sincere “how are you doing Marc”, not the kind you hear because it’s just what you have to say, he really meant it as he looked me right I the eyes. Ed had a certain way about him that just made it impossible not to love him. I think the word is “charisma”. He was always good for a laugh and could win anyone over in an instant. Over the years I have seen and gotten to know a man that cared about everything and everyone. I have seen his passion for God, his family, his business, his charitable acts, America, and many other highly admirable things. I had the pleasure of golfing with him more than once. I was deeply saddened when I found out the news. I told my boss when he shut my door, “please tell me someone quit but don’t tell me something happened to Ed”. I have shed many a tear since. A lot of words come to mind when I think about Ed but the one that keeps sticking out is “legacy”. To be referred to as a legacy you need to be great and have touched thousands and that’s what Ed was, a great man to everyone he was around! I am lucky to have met him and will never ever forget him.

I am shocked at the sudden and sad demise of our beloved friend and benevolent Rotarian Ed Minicozzi. I have very fond memories of my visit to Locust Valley as a part of the Group Study Exchange team in 1997 and the warmth and affectionate hospitality we experienced with Governor Ed Minicozzi, Sr. He made our visit so memorable that when I visited Harvard for my sabbatical in the year 2005, I came back to New York and re-lived the moments of our togetherness with PDG Ed and my LV Rotary friends at the home of my friend and host Bill Jacobs. Besides Rotary, Ed was a great business leader and a visionary. His contribution to the community will be remembered for ever. I do not have words to express my grief. I join the bereaved family of Minicozzis and pray to the Almighty that the blessed soul of my beloved friend may rest in peace. Time is a great healer and let us console ourselves with the thought that Ed will dwell in the house of the LORD
forever.
With fond memories,
V S Kumar,
Additional Commissioner of Income Tax, Indian Revenue Service, Coimbatore, India.

Dear Myrt
My heart goes out to you, as unfortunately I know your pain. Ed was a good friend and a great person. I enjoyed our years in Bayville together. The old cliche is "you were lucky to have so many years together", but my answer to that was "I wanted more" God saw it different.I always say "I feel like an amputee--part of me is missing" God will give you the strength to carry on and Ed will help him do it. My thoughts and prayers are with you and the children.
With deepest sympathy & love

Dear Myrt, Eddie, Kenny, Stephen and the Minicozzi family. It was a sad phone call that we received from Lynn on Tuesday. Frank and I were extremly saddened to hear of the passing of Ed. Words cannot express how we truly feel. Ed was always a perfect gentleman; kind, and considerate of all and a special friend to us. He was truly a family man, giving of himself completly. His love and devotion to all the family members was his priority. His love for his Myrt was truly something special. They were a "team" something not many can say today. It was always fun to be with them and I especially remember the fun we had in Ireland! We met at the airport not knowing we would be on the same trip and happy to realize we would be together. What FUN! I can just see him now with Vinnie and the rest of his family in heaven. I have tears in my eyes as I write this. God Bless you Myrt and all the Minicozzi's. He will always be with you! PS: The picture of him is great!
Love, Pat and Frank Tirico

Dear Uncle Ed:
You will always be Uncle Ed in my mind. After all, Aunt Myrtle is my Godmother.... You have known me since birth and even though we did not see each other to often over the years, you always knew how to make it seem like it was yesterday we were all together playing on the Center Island Beaches with our families.
I can not believe that God needed you, why now? He must have had a very special job for you.Your shoes will never be filled on earth. For myself and so many others, we are feeling a great loss. You were a legend bigger than you could have ever imagined. You might not have known all the lives you had touched in your lifetime but you do now. You will be deeply missed for a long time to come, and may your legend live on in all of our hearts forever.
When ever I would run into you guys, weather it was in Florida, California, or at home at some function or boat outing, you would always bring up a little story we shared together. Remembering the time you paid me a visit to Palm Desert, California where I lived, and had my art gallery located. You took the drive from San Diego out to Palm Springs. Our visit was a lot of fun, and when it was time to leave, you asked me what was the best way to drive home. I thought hard and then I sent you back a special way. Across a mountainous terrain, a road with no guard rails, with super windy curves and a view that would give you something to talk about when you got home. You told me it was talked about all right. It scared the daylights out of Myrtle and the rest of the people in the car!
The next time I saw you was back in New York. You looked at me and said "I owe you one missy". "Gotcha" I said. That was our little story between us that was so funny. That is what was so special about you. The fact that you had a little story with everyone you came in contact with. Each person who knew you, will be left with a little story they can cherish forever in their hearts, what a wonderful gift of remembrance for you to leave us with! I am so glad to have known you not only personally, but in business, and also in friendship with me and my family. Each of us have a little story with you and also with your family that we will never forget. I call you my uncle, a caring kind special man, that treated each one of us like family, and would give you the shirt off your back if we needed it. I will miss you...
Love always, Bonnie

Dear Myrt & family. I knew Ed for better than 50 years, as you will recall. He will be missed in so many places. My deepest sympathies to you all. Paige

Words cannot express my sorrow for the Minicozzi Family.
I first met Mr. M. when he acquired one of the early oil companies, back in 1979. I was working part time for General Utilities on Audrey Avenue, while I was attending college.
Throughout the 30+years,I am proud to say that I most definately learned alot from him.
He always had a smile for me (and was quick with a little joke for me).
I will forever hold a place in my heart for him.
May he rest in peace.
My thoughts and prayers are with his family.
