I knew Tom through the four years that we spent in the seminary together, and he was a great classmate. Always happy and content with life, whether it was going on a hike or building the Shrine on the back of the seminary property with his best friend, Hugh O'Connor. He was mature early for his age and a great person to know.

I was a classmate of Tom's at
St. Johns Seminary, in Montour
Falls, NY. I was one of 21 to
graduate with Tom in 1967.
I was just now trying to contact
Tom about a reunion we are having next month. I am so shocked and saddened to learn of
his passing. I can see by this
picture, that Tom retained his
thin physique, same hair, and the same impish grin. Tom was
shy in high school, but we all
found out what a terrific guy
he was as we got to know him.
In addition to remembering
some of the things written here about Tom, I also remember that he loved Herb
Alpert.
We will be ending our reunion
with a Mass. We will add Tom
to our "in Memoriam" list of
those who have passed away.
And I'm sure all of us will
remember Tom in our thoughts
and prayers beyond the reunion
weekend.
I have not seen nor heard from
Tom since 1967. But I feel
sadness and a loss at receiving the news of his
passing. When you live with
someone for four years, especially at such an impressionable age, the bonds
you develop are strong.
You have my sincerest condolence.

Time is passing and somethings are easier and some are much harder. Tommy's birthday was a day that was very difficult for so many of us because we are missing him. He didn't reflect on his age or the impact of his health on his everyday life.
Tommy kinda just things roll. I can't help thinking we all could have done more for him. That's just my guilt that I can't seem to shake and the fact that he just never really did anyone any harm.
I seem to see him on the street most days - or at least I swear it's him. I still go to dial his number to make sure he's okay.
Even though he drove me crazy, and he never knew it, I miss him something awful now.
From the youngest to the oldest - I wish you were still here to worry about!!

My greatest memory of Cousin Tommy is when Aunt Sissy was watching us kids one time and it was a real rainy boo foo kind of a Saturday.
Cousin Tommy offered to take Johnny and me to the movies.
I was always in awe of your family, not because of the size but because we always knew how much you all meant to each other...unconditionally
That was the best going to your house. Hanging out with the "grown up" kids.
Uncle Frank was teaching us checkers and games.
Walking Rags around the block or Rags walking us that is... it was safe for us to go back then. Everyone knew everyone besides Rags would protect us.
Watching the Wizard of Oz on the couch with Aunt Sis and she would sneak us some Kit Kats.
(I have a stash above my fridge for just such an occasion...)
The Flea market, table cloths, the race tracks...
That's the stuff right there, those are the memories that I strive for with my children. The simplest of things, gestures that mean so much.
Not since then, not from any job, meeting or class have I learned those important things.
When we all met up at the beach house a couple of summers ago there was Cousin Tommy greeting us at the door, bright wide smile, open door, " Heeeyyy how are ya? You want some cucumbers and tomatoes, sure, sure... Jeanne is cutting some up..."
No matter how much time has passed or how many miles take us away, the very most important thing is family, no body can mess with that..
The simplest kindest gestures the greatest memories...
One rainy boo foo Saturday...
" Hey you kids wanna go for a movie... sure, sure."
XOXOXO

Last night I saw the most bright and beautiful moon. Somehow I felt you saw it to. I started remembering all the great Christmas mornings we had when we were young. I will miss your phone calls informing me of my time zone, weather and of course what is happening out there. Mostly I will miss you.

I am a friend of Tommy's mother and sister, Mary. They are wonderful people, compassionate and understanding. Marge and Mary spoke very highly of Tommy and often about his illness. He will be missed by them, his family, friends, and co-workers.

The last year was a tough one for Tommy. He moved in with me a year ago today. After the stroke he wasn't ever the same. Oh, he was still upbeat and happy but slower. Simple things we take for granted were more difficult for him. He enjoyed spending time with Maxwell so much and going to the movies and trying to keep up with us and our crazy schedule. He took care of me when I broke my collar bone till Mom could get to upstate NY. He would help anyone if only he had the resources. He will be missed in many ways!

I will miss you. Never a bad time and never too much of a good time in your company. Sharing our "Wonder Years" together. From sleepovers in Floral Park, blasting "Let's hang on" in our dorm at St. John's after lights out and learning to drive a stick shift on your '49 Chevy. Save me a spot and I'll bring the Beach Boy's greatest hits.
