I have been continuing to "remember" fun times with Andy and I agree about his boundless energy the last time I was in NYC with him (Ann had her transplant). And I recall that he had "hot feet" <grin> and even in the cold February temps he NEVER wore socks! Said his feet got too hot. Can't recall, maybe he did not even wear a jacket outdoors! He loved his family and all his many CATS over the years. A truly amazing man and a surrogate father to me. We shared a love of books and reading and I am sorry for your loss.

Ann and family...we discovered this news today (5/31/13) and are truly heartbroken! We think of you both often, wondering if you ever received my note about Bettie Murphy (Ann's cousin) dying last Aug. My mother just passed away 3/10/13. I have the BEST memories of spending time with you two and pray that you and the family will find the Peace of Our Lord and Savior now and in the future. Love, Becky & Bob

I only met mr. and mrs. Grasso once, during my short visit to Mark in East Norwich, fall of 2011.
Such kind, friendly people. and obviously a family that loved eachother dearly.
I wish mrs Grasso, Paul, Mark and the other family members lots of strength in these difficult times.

I met Angelo when I was seven. Mr. G, as the kids called him, quickly became a special friend. He took Mark & I on trips to Laurel Hollow beach to watch the horseshoe crabs, dig clams and swim. He led the gang of kids that hung around the neighborhood on hikes in the woods and quizzed us about the plants & trees. We learned how to turn over rocks and find all kinds of insects. Physically Mr. G was amazingly strong. He was the only father in the neighbor hood who could hand over hand climb the rope with no help from his feet and he encouraged us to keep trying until we could too! (But we never could climb as fast as Mr. G could.) He had a small sailboat that I learned to sail on. He found a 14’ motorboat for sale that I was able to buy for $50 that became summer adventures for my brothers and me in high school. When the Sea Scouts needed transportation upstate for a canoe trip Mr. G came to the rescue. I gained a love of adventure and exploration from him that is still with me. Today I walked with Dea along a nature trail in southern Alabama and remembered my friend and the worn out hiking boots that he could not part with. Last summer I sailed US 1304 with my daughter Irene. I know I’ll always remember the great time Mark & his Dad had with that boat. Every time I sailed it I would end up telling stories about adventures with Mr. G. Those of us who grew up knowing Mr. G were very lucky. He showed us how to have fun while also being the first real environmentalist we ever knew. Angelo for a very quiet man you have had an immeasurable and wonderful impact upon the lives so many. God bless you & welcome you.
