John Gaines posted a condolence
I just shared some memories via email with our old colleagues at Q&A and Dan Oill suggested writing here.
It's impossible for me to make the funeral or wake, which saddens me, so I hope that this is some comfort.
Q&A remains my favorite non acting jobs in about 35 years of working. Scott is a very great part of why that is.
He was a bright, compassionate, sensitive man who enjoyed his friends and family very much...and Q&A was definitely family to him.
From the moment he called me into his office to offer me permanent work after being a temp for 3 days, I was struck with the emotion he felt when describing what it was like to work at Q&A. It was what sold me. At that time I had no intention of taking a permanent job.
In the following years until he moved on from Q&A I was continually struck by how much he cared for the people over, under and beside him there.
I've said it was as if he took the ball that Ray and Dennis passed him and ran it for to the goal line.
On a personal note I just remembered that I developed the habit of ending every conversation with a loved one with "I love you", even if it were in the middle of a fight.
I learned that from Scott and it will be one of many things about him that I will continue to carry with me for life.
Evelyn, I remember the talk we had way back when I first started at Q&A at the company picnic. My heart, thoughts and prayers are with you and your children. Always

Dear Evelyn,
Scott was such a warm and wonderful person. I knew him at Q&A and met you and the children at many of the family activities. I'll leave you some photos of those good times. He was much loved and will be greatly missed.

I had the pleasure of working with Scott early in his career. His intellect and knowledge often made it difficult to remember how young he was to be so good at what he was doing. My heart goes out to his family.

I have so many positive memories of Scott, I don't know where to start. From the long hours at Q&A to all the times we would talk on the phone about everything, he was always a great support for me and I will miss him. My thoughts are with everyone in his family and I am sorry I won't be able to be there to say goodbye.

Scott was a great friend and mentor. I remember when Scott first interviewed me at Q&A, I was impacted by his optmism and smile. When I think of him, I think of someone that wanted to make a difference in someone's life, and he DID make a difference in my life.
I will miss you a lot, coach!

I will always remember Scott as a man full of life. He always wore a smile that was infectious. He was a true friend. I will forever treasure his friendship. I am blessed to have known him. Scott never had an ill word for anyone. He truly tried to find the best in everyone he met. He cherised his wife, his children, his parents and his family. He always tried to please those he loved. To The Miller Family:
Scott was so passionate. His enthusiasm for the projects we worked on was infectious. His personable nature, his love for his family and his drive to be the best are most notable. He regularly mentioned how proud he was of his children and all that they accomplished.
May your fond, happy memories ease the sorrow. Scott is now at peace.
My sincere condolences.
