Hi Nan.... First I want to tell you that we all miss you sooooo much.. It is not the same anymore. I can't believe it is going to be a year that the house was sold. Mom, me and the girls did go to the house a few months ago... it looks really nice. The couple that moved in are great people. they are expecting a baby soon. They said all good things are working out for them since they moved it. I am sure you already know, but our Jeanne passed away and now she is with you. Please take care of her... we miss her also. I can't believe our two favorite bird lovers are up in heaven together... Please say hello to Pop and Uncle Jurgen. Dear Nan, Today is your 1st anniversary in Heaven. We think of you everyday. You have a special place in our hearts. We have so many precious memories of your love and laughter. Ashley, Alexandra and Brian miss their "Birdbath Nanny" so much. Clover misses you too. This morning I had a beautiful red cardinal in the back eating birdseed and it felt like you were with me today. Mom and Dad and Tom miss you also. Hi Nanny, I can't believe it is almost 9 months that you were taken away from us. So many things has happened. We miss you soo much and I am really not looking forward to the holidays with out you. Dear Birdbath nanny, I miss you soooo much. I wish you were here. It was my bday a few days ago and it wasnt the same without you. School is almost starting again, it went so fast. I found out that ill be taking a high school class for art this year. I finally decided what i wanna be when i growup. I want to own a bakery called" muttis bakery"! Its deticated to you! Meine liebe Mutti, Heute ist Mutter’s tag and Du bist nicht mehr bei uns. Du glaubst nicht, liebe Mutti, wie Du mir fehlst. Es werden schon 14 Wochen und jede woche ist schlimmer. Meine liebe Mutti, es ist so schwer das ich Dich nicht mehr sehen oder mit Dir sprechen kann. Aber, die 5 Jahre die ich bei Dir verbracht habe, werde ich immer in Ewigkeit behalten. 49 Jahre zuruck gabe mir eine gute Bekannte das Gedicht “Wenn Du noch eine Mutter hast” und ich habe es immer in Ehren gehalten. Es ist wahr, nun kann ich blos noch Dein Grab, wie dem Papa & Jurgen seines pflegen. Ich vermisse wenn Du immer "Madla" zu mir gesagt hattest. Nun meine liebe Mutti,Schlaf in Frieolen!! Dear Birdbath Nanny, Nanny it has been really hard without you, especially today on mothers day. I love you sooo much and i hope poppy, unce urgen and you are doing well together and spending time with each other. I really wish you didnt have to go, everyone including me miss you. It is so weird because i always knew i had you and now your not here. It is going to be so hard, everyday. I have been thinking about you. I miss you and hearing your voice and your stories. You were a wonderful great-grandma, anyone who knew you loved you. You will alway have a place for me in my heart. Henny nanny and poopy really miss you. Hi Nanny, Just wanted to tell you that we truly missed you today on Mother's Day!. It was not the same without you. We were all thinking of you. Alexandra and Ashley designed a cook book on all your great receipes. Alex has been learning from mom. I robin bird has made a next in my wreath on the house and is having babies. The girls say that it a sign that you are with us. I believe it. We also have red cardinal birds feeding in the flowerbed. "Bird Bath" Nanny you are missed soooo much. We saw Tante Erna last in September 2006. It is so bad we won't enjoy her company again. She and Klaus were always great hosts when we visited from Germany. Ursel knows her well from her Schney time. Tante Erna will remain in our memories and hearts forever.

My grandmother was the best ever. Words can't describe how I felt about my nanny. I miss her sooo much. I spoke with my grandmother everyday. She was so caring and loving to all of us. After my grandfather passed away I went weekly to visit and do errands for my mom and nan. I always enjoyed going into her house and seeing Nan waiting for me. She was always so happy to see me and would say hi Mousee and ask if the girls and Tom are ok. She was always concerned about all of us. I will miss her smile,cooking,laugh,stories and most of all seeing my Nanny. I have such a empty feeling in my heart and I pray that she is with Pop and Uncle Jurgen and that they are looking down at us. Miss you Nanny. Love always, Mousee xxxxxoooo

I met Erna last year at Christine and Toms house during a party in the summer. She was a very sweet lady and I know she will be greatly missed by her family and friends. The Murrays are like our second family and I wish I could be there for them right now. Erna will be missed and my prayers go out to her family.

Grandma and I had such great conversations at all the Murray BQs and holiday gatherings. She really had a way with storytelling. Her sweet goodies were mouth-watering. I could always feel the love and devotion that she had for her family and the same that they had for her. Nan's gentle, caring ways are reflected in them all. She gave each of them quite a gift of love and values to carry in their hearts forever. She will always be talked about at the gatherings and seen in the beauty of the cardinals. I was blessed to know her.

Our family was blessed to meet and get to know Great-Grandma Vorsatz over the past couple of years. I always admired her demeanor and her spunk, even at her age. She was always such a wonderful great-grandma to the Murray girls, and a great grandma (in law) to Christine and Tom. She was the nucleus of the family, and it was obvious by the way everyone cared for her when she was in need - and something she did for her family in the past many times, I'm sure. I loved her German food - that carrot salad was out of this world! And how can I forget the red cabbage! I don't know if anyone will ever make it better than her (sorry, Tommy!). She leaves behind a wonderful piece of herself in the hearts of her beautiful family, and I know she will live through them, giving them her strength and love. We will miss you! <3

I will always remember Mrs. Vorsatz as Nanny Vorsatz even though she was not my grandmother. I have very happy childhood memories of summer trips staying with my Aunt Brigitte and Uncle Henry and going to her house for visits. She was always very warm and welcoming like I was her own grandchild. Of course I absolutely loved all the great food at her house! I am so glad that during my last trip to New York we got a chance to visit, talk, and she could meet Bryan and the kids. It is a wonderful memory I will always keep. Kathy

Having known Erna for the past 45 plus years and being the sister of her son-in-law I have the most wonderful memories of all the times we were together. How she made all of her delicious german foods and pastries. I will always have the memory of her making me a part of her family and for being Nanny Vorsatz to my Kathy. I will miss having our chats over the past couple of years and always asking about John. Also about Kathy and her family. I will have a beautiful memory of the way Erna would say my name. Erna was a lovely woman who always had a warm, welcoming smile when we saw her. We thought about her often, especially when our grandson Brian told us about his visits to see "Birdbath Nanny". We always looked forward to the wonderful cookies and cake she made at Christmas time. She will be msised!

My Great-grandma, known as birdbath nanny was a wonderful, loving, and caring person. Nanny had a great childhood in Germany and I got the chance to visit her hometown. I have known nanny for 12 years and I will always love her. Nannys cooking was like no other. Nannys secret receipe was love and that is what she always gave to no matter who it was. I love nannys stories and I wished that I could hear those stories over and over. I especially remember the pie story, this was about how she carried big pies all over her town. Everyone loved Birdbath nanny including clover. I was very lucey to have her as a Great- grandma and she will always mean the world to me. I see nanny as a great role model for any girl.Nanny is a strong women and I love her so much. I love you sooooooooo much. From mousee #3

My son's great-grandmother will have a special place in the hearts of all of those that knew her. I loved sitting at her dining room table listening to her many vivid stories of her girlhood in Germany and the way things were when she came to America. Her baking was second to none! I cannot eat German food in a restaurant because of her meals!! It just never compares! She was a lovely, sweet woman who NEVER complained and loved her family dearly.
