Obituary of John P. Pagliaccio

Pagliaccio, John P. on Mar. 14, 2008, age 82, long standing resident of Bayville, LI. Beloved husband of the late Nina. Loving father of John (Lynn), Elliot (Wendy), and Joseph (Dale). Cherished grandfather of Sarah Morton (Jake), Libby, David, Isabel, and Julian. Dear brother of Victoria Golofaro, Rudolph, and the late Anthony, and Marie Paige. Also survived by loving nieces and nephews. John was very active in his life, he was a long standing member of the Bayville community, he owned and operated the Astoria Dress Company, Queens, NY a family run business for over 30 years, he served as a civilian member of the Nassau County Police Dept., he served in WWII and received an Honorable Discharge from the U.S. Navy, he volunteered with the Nassau County Meals on Wheels Program, he was a volunteer of Glen Cove Hospital, an active member of the Bayville American Legion, a member of St. Gertrude's Parish and a founding member of the Bayville Youth Football and Little League Baseball Leagues. In addition to all of his volunteering he was an avid reader and patron of the Bayville Library, and refinished furniture amongst other hobbies. Visiting Oyster Bay Funeral Home, 261 South St., Oyster Bay, LI Monday 7-9 p.m., and Tuesday 3-5 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass St. Gertrude RC Church, Bayville, Wednesday 10 a.m. Interment Locust Valley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to the Don Monti Cancer Memorial Research Foundation, c/o North Shore University Hospital @ Glen Cove, 300 Community Drive, Manhasset, NY 11030 would be appreciated.
