Lynn Simmons Robinson

August 1, 1942 – April 9, 2024

Lynn S. Robinson, age 81, died on April 9, 2024, following a long illness with Alzheimer’s Disease. Lynn was born in 1942 and raised in Garden City, NY along with her two older siblings, Lee and Nanci. She graduated from Garden City High School in 1960 and subsequently from Marjorie Webster Junior College in Washington, D.C. Warm, nurturing, and fun-loving, Lynn was a devoted wife and mother who prioritized her family above all else. Together with Edward T. Robinson (deceased 2021), her cherished husband of more than 50 years, Lynn raised six children: Edward IV “Robby,” Wendy (Christopher Cioni), Christopher (Margot), Jeffrey (Marie), Lesley (Walter Stackler), and Michael (Christine). Lynn and Ed were doting grandparents to fourteen beloved grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

When their children headed off to college, Lynn served as a secretary and administrator in Ed’s law office in Oyster Bay. She later earned a degree in Interior Design and ran a successful interior decorating business for nearly 20 years, forging long-term friendships with many of her clients.

Lynn had many talents and interests, ranging from fine dressmaking and other exquisite needlework to design history, golf, and tennis. She and Ed shared many happy times with their family and friends, first at Nassau Country Club, where they met, and subsequently at Meadow Brook Club and at Casa de Campo in the Dominican Republic, where they owned a home for nearly 40 years.

Lynn and Ed were very active in the Oyster Bay and larger Long Island communities. Lynn was a tireless volunteer for United Cerebral Palsy of Nassau County, chairing its Forget-Me-Not Ball for many years. She was a dedicated volunteer at the Saint Dominic Rectory and High School, and she supported Ed for many years with his volunteer work for the Nassau County and New York State Bar Associations. Even in retirement, Lynn continued to volunteer by teaching a weekly English class to elementary school children in La Romana, Dominican Republic.

Lynn is predeceased her husband Ed, as well as by her cherished parents, Lee Howard and Frances (Goodell) Simmons.

Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate Lynn Robinson's life on Friday, May 17, 2024.
