I worked for the Town of Oyster Bay for thirty years and had the pleasure of working with many others during that time. I can say without hesitation that Jim was the one person that I enjoyed working with the most. He was kind, talented, honest, hard working, fair, humble, and respected by all. The world needs more people with such integrity and demeanor.

We did not have the privilege of knowing James personally, but are friends of his son Martin. Martin described his father to me on numerous occasions as a man who met all of life's challenges without complaining, who loved and valued his family, and embraced life. I'm certain that he had many accomplishments of which he was justifiably proud, but to be the father of two Marine Corps officers is a rare tribute to a father and the mark of a life well lived.
With our deepest condolences we hope that all of his family are together and able to celebrate his long life.
