Sadly, I didn’t know Maureen. But “chance” sat me down next to John Foley at the Mills House Hotel bar in Charleston late on Christmas Eve, 2023. We started to chat…I learned a little about him…he learned a little about me. My wife was asleep in the room…his 2 daughters in theirs. As our conversation progressed, l learned of the tragic loss of his beautiful beloved wife Maureen. I shared with him why we were spending the holiday in a city far from where we lived. Our only child, our beautiful daughter (wife and mother) Amy passed away 6 years earlier from cancer. To keep the holiday memories at bay, we visit someplace new every Christmas.
We consoled one another, toasted our loved ones, and I left our meeting…wishing that I could check in with John to see how he and his daughters are doing.
If you see this note John…I would very much like to hear how you and family are holding up. I (nor anyone) can make any of the pain go away…but talking can certainly soften it.
Please feel free to contact me at (610)585-3956 or rhilseberg@aol.com.

Our condolences to John, Katie and Madeline on the loss of their wife and Mom. As neighbors, Maureen has always been smiling when we passed each other while walking our dogs. As the Moms of 2 of the 3 Kate's in my daughter Katelin's class at ASR elementary school, we occasionally exchanged stories on how the girls were doing during high school and college when the girls parted ways after 8th grade graduation. The loss of such a warm, gracious and kind person is painful and sorrowful. May memories of times together ease the grief that Maureen's family will experience in days, weeks and years ahead.

My deepest condolences to the family and friends of Maureen Foley. Maureen was my childhood best friend. She was so fun, so beautiful and so kind. We would ring and run, make prank phone calls, dance a lot and trick or treat together. We stayed friends through the years and it made me so happy to see her marry John and become a terrific mother to Kate and Madeline. My heart is broken for them, for the entire Quinn family, and for all of her family and friends. She will be greatly missed.

I was fortunate to spend many holidays and family gatherings together with Maureen, John, Katie, and Madeline. Maureen was always so warm, kind, and fun to be with. It sounds cliche, but she was beautiful inside and out. We used to laugh about our shared tendency to sprout tears easily, but that to me is just another sign of her loving spirit. I’m incredibly saddened that her life has been cut way too short. but her love and light will shine on through her beautiful family. Rest in peace, sweet Maureen. Our deepest condolences to all of her family and loved ones.

I worked with Maureen at Smith Barney. We continued our friendship long after we both left there. We were pregnant with our firsts at the same time, giving birth within three weeks of each other. I can’t believe she is
gone. We are so devastated for all of you. Our deepest condolences during this difficult time. Jennifer, Jimmy, Abigail and Sienna Hughes.

My sincere condolences to the family and friends of Maureen Foley. Throughout my high school years with Maureen’s eldest daughter, Kate, and continuing on throughout our four years of college Maureen was a second mother to “The Mercy Girls”. Mrs. Foley, who always yelled at me to call her a Maureen, has taught me unforgettable life lessons over the years and always encouraged me to achieve my dreams in life. It was an honor to have known her and I will never forget the times we shared. John, Madeline, & Kate, I love you all.

Amongst many good and funny memories, my favorite is when I would tell a story she would reply, “Oh my god….is this going to be a long story?” We truly loved her are going to miss her terribly.
