Dear Andrea and Family:
I came across Mark’s obituary by accident. I am so sorry for your loss. Although it’s been many years since I worked with Mark at Nassau County Museums, I have have fondly thought of him over the years. He taught me much about flowers, shrubs, etc. that I recall to this day. He was a perfectionist when it came to pruning, etc. I have strived to be a perfectionist in my gardening following his lead. It was hard work though and he always seemed tireless to get the job done his way. I don’t know if you remember me but I worked at Chelsea during the 1980s. Your children Andrew and Amanda were very young then. Anyway, I am so sorry for your loss and your children and grandchildren. Mark was a good man. Gone too soon. With my deepest sympathy. In addition to being a loyal, loving husband and father, Mark was a man of strong ethics and principles. He always had a smile on his face and was courteous and respectful to all. Mark was a professional tradesman of the highest order who strove to make all his clients happy.
He was a skilled fisherman who loved to fish with his grandkids and was professional level skilled at tying and fishing with flies……Connequot State Park will miss him……
Mark always had your back regardless of circumstances.
In addition to a lifetime of other memories Mark and I share one very special one; he was one of two people with whom I was very prone to break down in uncontrollable laughter (giggles almost) at some of the stupidest things and laugh until it hurt.
I’ll miss that almost more than anything.
RIP little brother.
