Obituary of Raymond William Searby

Searby, Raymond William – passed away from complications from stomach surgery at L.I. Jewish Hospital on June 25, 2021, age 80, Oyster Bay resident for 53 years. Leaving his loving wife Grace of 57 years. He will be deeply missed by his daughter Lauren Hanes (Mike) and adoring grandchildren Brian and Ashley. Pre-deceased by his daughter Janise and a sister Patricia Anne Carl.  Also surviving is his niece Wendy Ann Campbell (Chip) and daughters Courtney and Lindsey as well as many cousins. Ray was a talented Architect and was an Associate Partner at I.M. Pei & Partners for 15 years. He worked on numerous projects across the U.S. as well as abroad. He worked as a consultant for the past 15 years for the Hudson River Park Project. Former member of Sagamore Yacht Club and Nassau Country Club.  Currently a tennis member at Crest Hollow Country Club. He was an avid tennis player and always challenged his younger players. Visiting Oyster Bay Funeral Home, 261 South Street, Oyster Bay, NY, Tuesday 3-7 p.m. Interment is private.
