I'm remembering fondly the family gatherings at Aunt Lena and Uncle Frank's house with my most admired cousins, Peter and "MIckey". The summer backyard parties and the Feast of the Seven Fishes on Christmas Eve are some of my best childhood memories. Mickey was 8 years older than I but he always found a bit of time to play with me and my sister or take us for a ride in his car with the radio blaring! When I scribbled mustaches on the faces of the cover girls on the pages of his calendar he was clearly not happy but then joked about it and forgave me. As young adults we often connected at family gatherings with a glass of Scotch and a few laughs over our shared experiences in the Coppola/Cappello family. I thought of him this past Christmas and reached out to Sharran Coppola for his address but she did not have it so sadly, the connection never happened. Please accept my sincerest sympathy in the loss of your husband, father and "Pop Pop" and know that my thoughts and prayers will be with you especially on Friday morning when he's laid to rest. May the peace of Christ be with you all and the love of the Lord sustain you in your grief.
