Please share a memory of Waltraud to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Brown, Waltraud Johanna "Wally"- on April 18, 2020, age 80 of Long Beach, NY, as a result of COVID-19. Beloved widow of the late Thomas S. Brown. Wally was born in Kassel Germany, March 19, 1940, the daughter of the late Irene and Karl Rosenberg, sister of Monika and Aunt of Peter of Germany; Stepmother to Sam (Viki) and the late Martha and Omi to five grandchildren. Wally's life was full of accomplishments and adventures. She came to the United States, on her own, at the age of 22 and never stopped growing and exploring. She cherished her German heritage and took great pride in her American Naturalization. She has beloved friends with whom she shared many extraordinary memories and travels. She was an avid skier throughout her entire life, residing in VT for many winters. She worked for Pan Am Airlines and was a well regarded Rep with accounts all across long island. She joyfully met and subsequently married her late husband, Tom, in 1984. She paused her career to join him in a position which would require travel. They resided in Glen Cove, where she lovingly embraced her stepchildren and in the years that followed joyfully became Omi to all her grand children. Her keen hazel eyes and unique german-english story telling will be greatly missed. Wally is in the caring hands of our friends at Oyster Bay Funeral Home - in lieu of flowers, if you wish, we would ask you to turn to all our front line/first responders and make a contribution to their well being, in her loving memory. In light of these unprecedented circumstances, we will celebrate her life with a memorial at a later date. oysterbayfuneralhome.com
