I am sorry to learn of the passing of John. When I first started work as the director of Operations at the Worker's Compensation Board, John was an excellent guide. We remained friends for the 23 years I was with the Board, and loved to swap stories of NYS government in the 70's and 80's. John didn't just know subject matter....John knew people...a skill that truly cannot be taught. I will always be grateful for his guidance and friendship, and offer my sympathy to his family.

Saddened to learn of the passing of John Fanning. I remember John and Diane when I was sacristan at Holy Name of Jesus Church in Woodbury, N.Y.
It was because of him that I attended St. Dominic High School, and for that, I will be forever grateful to him!
RIP, John!

Uncle John was more than an Uncle, he was a friend. He was always there to help when asked and he did it often. We know this is a difficult time, but we will always remember the good times and laughter because that's what he would want. He's in a better place now with no more suffering and surrounded by family and friends. I'm sure he would say in the vernacular we use. 84 years. I had a good run.
Our sympathy goes out to everyone.
He will forever be in our hearts,
Love Michael & Theresa
