Obituary of Ingrid Vonderlieth

Vonderlieth, Ingrid – suddenly on Oct. 3, 2018, age 76, of Lattingtown, NY. Beloved wife of Harry "Horst" for 57 years. Loving mother of Peter (Nina), and the late Eric. The daughter of Adolf & Lina Traube and grew up in Hollis Woods, Queens. Ingrid was a graduate of Katharine Gibbs College. Together she and Harry founded V.P.H Mechanical Corp. in 1970. In the early years, she was the Secretary and Treasurer. The Vonderlieth's moved to Lattingtown in 1980 were they raised their two children. Today Peter and his wife Nina now operate V.P.H Mechanical Corp. Ingrid was involved in the Locust Valley community. She was a Cub Scout Den Mother, President of the Locust Valley Garden Club, and President of the Locust Valley P.T.A. An avid skier she maintained the Ski Lodge at Stratton Mountain. Ingrid loved kick boxing and worked out with her Trainer Ryan twice a week and always remained super fit and incredibly strong. Ingrid also assisted her friend Brigit in raising her twins Annie and Aidan and is called Nana by them. Ingrid and Harry enjoyed traveling. Ingrid's favorite place however was her home here in Lattingtown where she created her own Eden. Ingrid will be laid to rest only a few yards away from her beautiful home and garden and next to her beloved son Eric.
