A Tribute to Peter Pappas
“The first vowel of my heart was yours . . . its last consonant will be yours.”
Excerpt from Moments (1958)
The first verse of Moments, the inspired poem of Cyprus’ most beloved 20th Century poet, Costa Montis, beautifully captures the life and ethos of Peter Pappas. As a husband, father, grandfather, and devoted Orthodox Christian of proud Cypriot descent, Peter’s heart was always fashioning the vowels of his resources and talents into lyrics of noble philanthropic action. Presbytera Haidee and I are fortunate to have been among the family, friends, and multiple charitable organizations and global causes that personally enjoyed the poetic librettos of his kindness, loyalty, and love.
May the Lord grant him Eternal Rest!

We met Peter in 1997 at his sheet metal shop on 18th street and we ask him to lease us the space to start a very unpopular business at the time: an event venue..
He gave us this opportunity back then and we are still in business. We are very thankful to him.
May he rest in peace

A wonderful loving family man, a successful business founder, the focal pillar of his community, but most of all, a smile that could light up Times Square.
A person that departs from this earth never truly leaves, for they are still alive in our hearts and minds, through us, they live on. Please accept our condolences, Peter J will not be forgotten.

To the Pappas family and friends.
My deepest condolences on the passing of Mr. Pappas. I can honestly say that I have nothing but love and respect for this man. He was a loving, caring, driven man, the very definition of gentleman and class. You are all in my thoughts and prayers and I pray for his soul to be at peace in the arms of our heavenly Father.
